youth ministry
Hello and welcome to Saint Anne’s Youth Ministry!
Our youth ministry programs serve students in grades 6-12. Here at St. Anne’s we believe in an inclusive community and strive to incorporate that into everything we do. No matter where your youth may be in their own spiritual journey, we are there to meet them with love, respect, and beloved community.
formation
Forming faithful and educated youth is something we take pride in at Saint Anne's. Youth Formation is an opportunity to explore the Bible through the lens of the real world using current events and the lectionary.
community
In EYC (Episcopal Youth Community), we believe that building beloved community and living like Jesus happens just by hanging out with your friends. Each Sunday night we gather, have dinner, play games, and create with each other. EYC is a place where youth can talk about the real issues in their lives and show their true selves without judgement or criticism.
Diocesan Youth Events
The Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta offers several ways youth can connect with other Episcopal youth throughout the state. There are day events like the annual tubing down the Hooch and weekend retreats like Happening and New Beginnings. These offerings are just another to keep youth engaged with the Episcopal Church. Check out the link below for more information.
key conferences
Camp Mikell
There is no place like Camp! Children and youth of all ages are welcome and encouraged to experience some Mikell Magic every summer. Camp is a great place to build community and be yourself. Use the button below to get more information.
Each year, Saint Anne's youth head to the North Carolina mountains to the Episcopal Church's Kanuga Conference, Retreat and Camp Center for two KEY Conferences: Youth Week and Winterlight. KEY serves those who seek empowerment, inspiration, and community. Participants are invited into a vibrant nationwide fellowship that fosters connection and leadership within the church and in the world.
confirmation
Once in high school, our 9th grade students will be eligible to participate in Confirmation. Confirmation is an important sacrament and rite of passage in a youth's life. During this time they meet regularly with clergy and mentors to explore and prepare for adult life in the church.
acolytes
Our youth are a very important part of the Sunday liturgy serving as acolytes. Youth in grades 4th-12th are welcome to participate in the service by carrying the cross, torches or banner in the processions and by helping the clergy during the Eucharist. This a the perfect opportunity for youth to take a step further, learning about church and experiencing spiritual life by being a part of it. Contact Tabi for more information.
