music
adult choir
Rehearses Wednesdays from 7:30 – 9:15 pm.
The adult choir includes high school age through adult. We sing most Sundays for the 10:30 am service as well as special services and diocesan events, and are joined by members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra for our Christmas Eve and Easter services.
We have three choirs for children and youth.
All choirs receive choir pins based on the national Choristers Guild curriculum, with jewels added for years of service. In addition, each choir participates in an Awards Ceremony each year followed by a choir trip.
Children who have soccer/sports practices on rehearsal days are welcome to join us in November.
PRIMARY CHOIR
Rehearses Thursdays from 4:30 – 5:15 pm and is for children in kindergarten and first grade (must be 5 years old by Sept. 1).
Songs and rhythmic movement, percussion instruments, musical games, and a choir trip to Chuck E. Cheese!
"Sounds great, but I can't sing!" No problem. For you we have:
handbell choir
junior CHOIR
Rehearses Wednesdays from 4:30 – 5:30 pm and is for children in grades 2 – 5.
Simple part-singing, percussion instruments and the use of handbells and handchimes! This group votes on their choir trip; last year we went to Chuck E. Cheese.
youth CHOIR
Rehearses two Sundays a month from 11:45 – 12:30 pm (right after church) and is for youth in grades 6 – 12.
More advanced part-singing, handbells, and a trip chosen by the choristers; last year we went to Mellow Mushroom and Stone Cold Creamery. In addition, this group plans all the music for Youth Sunday.
Rehearses Tuesdays from 7-8 pm
This choir is for high school age through adult. We play approximately four times a year as well as for Christmas and Easter service. Music reading is desirable but not mandatory.
