Mission & Outreach
In our Baptismal vows, we promise to “seek and serve Christ in all persons, and to love our neighbors as ourselves.” We fulfill that promise as we support our partners in mission. Saint Anne’s currently engaged in several ministries, both on and off our campus. There are volunteer opportunities for parishioners of all ages, and we would love to have you join any group that speaks to you.
camp mikell
Camp Mikell is a ministry of the Diocese of Atlanta, open year round, and provides an inclusive environment for a faith based summer camp for children and youth, as well as conferences, private retreats, reunions, planning, study, and adventure. The Blue Ridge Outdoor Education Center has offered hands-on environmental education for school classes, church groups and others. Saint Anne’s contributes to the Mikell Scholarship Fund to assist those who cannot afford to attend Camp Mikell and to the Operations Fund to help maintain the buildings and equipment and buy much needed supplies. Saint Anne’s has also sponsored 5-10 campers from the Agape and Jabez after-school programs who attend Camp Mikell for a week in the summer.
Holy comforter
The Church of the Holy Comforter a parish in southeast Atlanta that serves people with living with mental illness or other disabilities, and is supported in their work by Episcopalian churches from around the area, including Saint Anne’s. Our parish prepares and serves Christmas Eve at Holy Comforter as well as supporting the Holy Comforter in various other ways throughout the year.
buckhead christian Ministry
BCM is a faith based, non-profit organization that provides emergency assistance to individuals and families of all backgrounds and faiths, treating everyone who comes to their door with dignity and compassion. BCM provides food and clothing, and assists with rent and utilities for families who are experiencing short-term financial crisis. BCM also provides longer-term assistance for working parents and their children through two programs: The 70/30 Project and Transitional Housing. BCM operates a Food Pantry, a Thrift Store (Buckhead Thriftique on Piedmont Rd), the Joyous Toys holiday program, and much more.
agape community center
The Center offers programs and facilitates community organizing for the residents of the Bolton Community. Agape’s current programs include after-school and summer enrichment programs for youth, a day program for senior citizens and disabled adults, English as a second language classes (ESL), counseling services for youth participants and their families, a support group for parents, and a mentoring institute to assist high school juniors and seniors. Saint Anne’s parishioners participate in the annual Christmas Giving Tree and tutor about 50 children on Mondays during the school year. We participate in the annual Backpack Give-away, which collects new backpacks and supplies for 2,400+ under-served students in the community, and the Agape Room Makeover, which provides new paint, new bedrooms and a whole new outlook for children in need.
Urban recipe
Saint Anne's hosts an Urban Recipe food co-op. Co-op members - 30 families - come to campus every other week to sort food items and take home a 2-week supply of food. Urban Recipe delivers the food in a refrigerated truck.
church of the common ground
Church of the Common Ground is a worshiping community of the Episcopal Diocese of Atlanta that provides support for the spiritual, social, emotional and physical needs of Atlanta’s un-housed men and women through weekly outdoor worship services, Morning Prayer services, Bible studies, meals, and foot clinics. These ministries provide community, inspiration and healing and help to re-establish connection, trust, and faith which empowers and transforms individuals and promotes healing and wholeness. Saint Anne’s parishioners regularly participate in this unique ministry providing lunches and friendship.
